HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

It's been awhile... a long while and yet another unforgiving apology comes with it. Recollecting last years Holiday post, it feels like just a few months ago Crewman Sean Conover and friends were sleighing through the streets of Gainesville filming for the "Shitty Santa" commercial. Sadly, this year we didn't have time to come up with another seasonal edit. Fortunately enough, we've reposted your still-favorite festive video brought to you by your still-favorite beer drinking, curb thrashing, headache lasting skate crew. Happy Alco-holidays everyone!

GX1000 - A GOOD FEELING

2 James' + 2 Crewmen = Foreclosure to the best edit out this month

DAMNIT AL!

Crewman Alex Davis just came out with a lengthy clip for Habitat footwear. Habitat shoes? Sounds pretty lame right? Out of all the board companies who sought out for ultimate supremacy in the skateboard world - we can all agree all have failed. Element, World Industries, Zoo York? What's common among that bunch is neither are a core skateboard company who do what they do strictly for skateboarders. When has Habitat let you down? I wouldn't put it past them that their shoes are as good as their boards. Get a pair and see for yourself. Keep the core skateboard companies alive!

GX1000 GOES HOLLYWOOD

It's like each one is better than the last - Ryan Garshell is the man at filming. Glad Crewmen Matt Militano and Jereme Knibbs got in this one.

OPEN YOUR MIND

Open skateboards is a new skateboard company based out of the northeast. Incidentally, their entire company is clustered with Mandible Claw affiliates and Cruizees Crewmen (no need to name them since all are featured in the video). Without even a second guess, we're sure who filmed and edited it is no surprise to you. Of course we feel it's one of the most sickest and innovative edits made, which could only help ramify this new born sect worldwide. We support Open!

ONE HUNDRED WATTS

Stephen Buggica, co-owner of this here company, has been up to some good skate-related videography projects. One of which he's recently introduced the first teaser of, a new series/blog entitled 100wtz. Coincidentally enough, this teaser features three Crewmen: Yonis Molina, Jimmy Mastrocolo, and Jereme Knibbs. Enthused to see the edits coming soon, they'll be set here as well.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Crewman Kevrick Evans got a pretty suave clip in this new GX1000.

SICKENING 'STACHE

Ant Verdi is one hell of a guy, with one hell of a mustache, rockin' the hell out of some Cruizees Garments in this edit made by Soft Hoagie Rolls. He's a good Crewboy and fantastic skater with a whole lot of ambition. He's working on a new line of pocket tees and other weirdo things called Ant Holes (you know cause his name's Ant and a pocket on a tee shirt's like a hole... Ant Hole...?!) The name will probably change about 8 more times before he gets everything going so don't be surprised if it's different. Anyways it's going to be pretty pristine, I'll tell you that much. Ant's a great dude, can kill beer (no matter how shitty it is) and we're glad he's a part of the crew. We'll support you no matter how many times you want to change the line of your product or the name of it, Ant!

PAST TO PRESENT

Its funny when I think back skating with Colin for the first time and filming with his little HD handcam just messin' around. And to realize he always had time to skate/film all while in the process of becoming valedictorian of his class at UF. How? Now he's a Professor at NYU and works for Tony Fucking Hawk at Ride Channel. I still don't get it, but he somehow has time for all that and then some. This is easily my favorite MCVX he's made, mainly cause these Crewdudes and associates are murdering this edit: Piro Sierra, Dylan Perry, Dante Debose, Kevrick Evans, Ryan Barlow, and Spike Lamy.

THE DUDES

...And BOOM! Just when you thought there was nothing going on with the Crewmen they hit you all at once - of course with the dopest edits of the month. First video features all Florida boi's Piro Sierra, Jimmy Mastrocolo, Jereme Knibbs and associate Paul Sakoff for Paradise Wheel Co. And as everyone knows by now, all GX1000 edits get posted which happens to be the second video. By God I'll just keep my mouth shut about what I think of Ryan G's filming, editing, and choice of skaters... you've all heard enough ranting about them from here. I think everytime James Coleman lands a trick a drive by happens, he's the gnarliest gangster ripper. It's impossible to watch either of these only once.

I'M SORRY

For those of you who check Cruizees regularly, you know lately I've been slackin' more and more.... and more. Honestly, it's a mix of things. Due to foreseen lack of interest in my excuses, I'll just blame it on the fact that not many siked-me-up videos have came out recently enough to make a post. But anyways, forgetting about my deficiency and onlooking something actually pertaining to skateboarding - Van Wastell is one you can never forget. His style, innovation, board control etc. are those no one can impersonate. If for some reason you've never watched too much of him I'll start off by saying you're blowing it, and that this video will explain everything. This has been one of my favorite edits of Van for a number of years, which was actually a part of the Podcast contest edit Krooked had a few years back of Van's raw footage. I'm not sure if this is the video that won, but it's incredible either way. Whether it's the generation now or those to come way on down the line, Van will always be known as a legend in skateboarding. Remember the greats!

ANOTHER MCVX

Once again I bring to you yet another video that is not ours. Out of all the Mandible Claw edits posted on here, we mine as well change our name to Mandible Claw's Fan Base Club. We need to get rollin' with some more stuff. At least these edits always have a mess of Crewman and affiliates in them: Matt Militano, Rene Perez, Alex Fogt, Ryan Barlow, Spike Lamy, and Carlos Jaramillo. Enjoy our not edit.

PLUMB LINES

I guess you could say Cruizees is a lesser version of the Tiltmode Army, in a sense... IN A SENSE. I mention that because unanimously, they are THE funnest squad in skateboarding via archives. Even so, their videos are always jammed with amazing skateboarding, which together gives a perfect balance of hilarity and hype; neither too over the top. This edit, however, outweighs their quirkiness and levels in on the insanity of Jon Nguyen. In a nutshell, Tiltmode Army are the best representation of what skateboarding is all about, period.

LOVE HURTS

Not to include the amount of times Colin has been hit off camera - the number of face punches documented is starting to add up rapidly. I think it's becoming a ritual for him. Poor Professor. Even a broken nose didn't stop him from making this new MCVX that's loaded with Crewmen and Floridian wheelieboarders Kevrick Evans (likes throwing elbows), Matt Militano (not a Florida boy), Dante Debose (aka Dirty Rotten Scrounger), and Matt Town (new affiliate of the Injured Travellers Group). Heal up my boyo.

EAST INFECTION

Wow! Ryan G is truly a G at filming. The colors, the swervin' in and out, hopping up and down curbs with the ability to keep up with skaters down hills and through the gnarliest cracks (i.e. Billy Roper's line through the trolly tracks)... DAMN! Speaking of G's, you can't find someone more G at skating than Crewman James Coleman - style king! Not to mention, the sufficient amount of Floridian shredders reppin' the East in these GX1000 edits would also explain why I couldn't enjoy these clips any more.

MY PEOPLE KILL YOUR PEOPLE

You can't get anymore east coast than 5BORO, one of the few teams left that is 100% raw skateboarding. This video shows just that from start to finish. There are a few fellow Florida rippers in there as well!

By the way, incase you don't follow our shitty made facebook page and get the memo, we just got an Instagram!

LATENIGHT LOUNGER #2

Despite the horrible weather, countless times getting Stephen Buggica's camera fixed, Josh Bowser's multiple ankle sprains, and long nights of skating - the second of our Latenight Lounger series is finished. And according to the guest clip, Jimmy Mastrocolo will be starring in the 3rd Lounger coming (hopefully) soon!

BROTHERS MOREFIELD

Another group of crew dudes (David & Jonathan Morefield) also recently took a trip to L.A. and stayed with Cruizees associate Evan Dougherty (filmer of the following). This is some of the fun stuff they got while they were out there. This is the kind of wheelieboarding that gets me most excited to go cruize around! Looks like you guys had a blast! Filmed and edited by Evan Dougherty

They're up and ready to order. This time we got those nice trendy-like tees everyone loves that fit like American Apparel, or what have you. We also went official and got our own tags which have all the proper laundry directions on them incase mom is on vacation. BIG BIZNESS

It's 10:05 EST and literally one hour ago this all was filmed at this skatepark in California. Crewmen Matt Militano and Nick Zizzo apparently have been friends across the U.S. for quite some time. I had no idea until I saw that Matt went on a skate trip to Cali and was posting pictures of Nick online. Pretty small world. Matt's still out there now and is obviously having a good time, they're abolishing and demolishing (and so is whoever filmed/edited this)! I'm digging the scruff Nick, so hesh bro.

VELVETY VARIETY

It's been seldom mentioned in some odd posts but never anything "official" yet, although he's been a Crewman for a minute. Alex Davis has some of the most unique and smooth styles in skateboarding - now, and way back when he first got on the 'net for his qualifying video in SLAP's 2nd One In A Million. Along with this part (which I think I've seen well over 100 times), he's been one of my favorites to watch since I was a kid and definitely still is to this day. Stay tuned for some Cruizees stuff featuring this huge grinning guy in the very near future!

MCVX - EPISODE 1

Wow, I think this has been the longest timeframe between posts since we started, and yet another apology comes with it - sorry folks. My lame excuse is that I told myself the next post is going to have actual Cruizees Crewman in it, and it's been exactly this long until something new has come out with any of them. Of course it's a Mandible Claw production, but this time it's not for SLAP but for the Ride Channel. Colin is working for them now and has his own section called MCVX. Here is the first one of the series. And as I promised myself, it's filled with Crewman Matt Militano, Sean Conover, Piro Sierra, and Ryan Barlow.

VX IS NOT DEAD

Still on top with these edits, Ryan Garshell comes through with the 3rd GX1000. And as usual, Crewman Piro Sierra is still hopping around keeping everybody on their toes.

MADARS APSE

This post might not be worth making in a sense that I have a feeling this video will be deleted soon. I'm not sure I care much at all though; this part, like any others you've seen of him, is ridiculous. No, it might not fit the "Cruizees criterion" since he's switch 50ing handrails and nollie flipping stairs into an immediate front wallride. Still, in every part I've seen of his he does some mind-altering tricks that I've never witnessed before. Which brings me to a preaching skate-nerd point to stay creative when you skateboard. Don't camouflage into the repetitive fake steezed insane combo bro- they got old real fast. Skating is even more fun when you come up with your own stuff! Sorry for the short sermon, maybe I should start getting more original by posting more of our own videos. Who the hell am I to talk? Enjoy this while it lasts.

Monday, June 11, 2012

ARE YOU ALRIGHT COLEMAN?!

Ryan Garshell is another one of my favorite filmers out right now. He can make the shittiest looking spots appear fun to skate just by the way he films it. I like how he's making these GX1000 edits of purely his footage instead having some clips in a montage or part; as a whole it flows much better. I hope he's working on or decides to come out with an independent video sometime soon, it'd be an instant classic in my book.

2 CENTS - JEREME KNIBBS

I've been watching Knibbs skate longer than I've known him and have always been a huge fan. He will shred any terrain with comfortable yet outstanding style; tranny, handrails, stairs, ledges, mannys - you name it he's got something for it. I wish there were more videos on the net for you to be graced by his genius skating ability, but besides this there's not much. Give this Crewman a tall glass of water when you see him, but when he's legal beer shower him with love.

THE GAINESVILLAINS VIDEO

Ever since I've lived in Gainesville (about 4 years) there was always talk from people and one of the filmers in town (Bryan Reynolds) about making a Gainesvillains video. While they were in the process of filming for it Colin was also filming for the first Mandible Claw video. Turned out everyone filming for it ended up giving their footage to Colin for his video, which of course, put the Gainesvillains video on hold... for a few years. Now it's set that they're making it and I'm super pumped to see it! Bryan has a really good style of filming and I think this video will definitely give him more recognition. Plus it's going to be packed with Crewmen and other associates which is really the icing on the cake!

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

2 CENTS

with Crewman Robbie Kirkland. You've seen Robbie around on the blog in videos and I know you love his style as much as I do. After watching him do these 10 insane tricks go back to the "SHAQUEEFA MIXTAPE" post, watch it, and don't blink for his whole part. Also keep an eye out for the next Shaqueefa Mixtape coming out pretty soon (which'll be posted on the blog), it's gonna be good.

HAIR METAL IS NOT DEAD

...And neither is innovation in skateboarding. How do they go hand in hand? I was as confused as you until I saw this a few months back. Callum Paul is an Australian (which says enough in itself) ripper who can literally skate anything. Watching him skate curbs the way he does is easily just as shocking and insane as seeing some handrail jock do a gnarly trick down something huge. I want to hook this guy up, and have him do a slappy commercial. Plus I'm sure he's just as good at drinking as he is skating!

STACKS

Literally an hour after making the "ZIZZLING" post (of Crewman Nick Zizzo awhile back), his Stacks welcome part came out - pretty efficient Nicky. Reason I couldn't get it on the blog right away was because it was posted on yet another website that does not allow sharing of videos. I've already seen this a thousand times and I'm sure everyone has to, but I made it my mission for too long to find it on another player that I don't care if it's too old. The fact is it's up and my mission is a success. Good job Nicky, you're killing it! Now make the Cruizees commercial already!

HUGO MAILLARD

I saw this video the other week and frantically tried to find it on a player that would allow me to post it on the blog but couldn't. Good thing someone else decided to put it up- this guy rips! He's got really great style, and it's funny because if you look at his older parts he's skating giant stairs and handrails. I like the urban-esque transition he made a lot more.

Thursday, May 17, 2012

MATT MILITANO

WOW! If you want to see some destruction over and over play Crewman Matt Militano's Fully Flaccid part a hundred times. INSANITY! Definitely got me excited to skate, although I still can't yet. That's only the beginning of Matt's kill streak, he'll be having a full part in Mandible Claw 3 too!

Thursday, May 10, 2012

ONE IN A MANDIBLE PART 3

Most of you may have already seen this. Typically the moment anything gets put up from Colin I try to get it on the blog, but I got lost in time. Wouldn't hurt to watch it again though, good skating and music. It appears the kids experience out there wasn't as bad as it was portrayed in the real OIAM, it seems like two completely different trips. Glad to know their time out there looks like it was somewhat worth it.

LENZ - FILMER APPRECIATION #2

Following the Koichiro Uehara post along with the Far East Skate Network post awhile back, Shinpei Ueno (filmer of the following) filmed and edited the Japanese video below called LENZ. I can honestly admit it's the funnest skate video to watch that I've ever seen in my life. It's one hour jam-packed with inconceivable annihilation. Shinpei captures every element of each spot with his spectacular fisheye filming and innovating close-up angles - he's easily one the the greatest filmers of all time. It's one of the longest videos I've seen and I bet it took less than a year to film it. I say that because it's evident of all the fun they're having, and seems like they just go out everyday/night with no intention of "doing this specific trick at this spot"- they'll skate anything and everything, which Shinpei's filming/editing reveals that sole purpose throughout the video. Even so, I don't think it is his reasoning to make that the theme of the video, these guys just have fun all the time!

Jimmy Lannon is taking part in Magenta's tour to Japan in welcoming Koichiro Uehara to their team tomorrow and skating with some of the guys in LENZ. I'm sure we can expect to see another amazing Magenta capsule soon from their trip out there. Also, Shinpei and the Japanese dudes are working on LENZ II so get ready for another mind-boggling video and keep an eye out for the Magenta team clips!

ONE IN A MANDIBLE PART 2

The second of One In A Mandible is even better than the first. They look like they had a lot of fun! Now I'm off to start working on some new stuff that you should be pleased with. Oh and our site is almost done and will be live very soon!

ONE IN A MANDIBLE

I think you all can agree that it's safe to say that you can always rely on Mandible Claw, aka Colin Read. Watching this edit, of what the contest should've been about, is finally helping me forget about that monstrosity of shit Ride Channel put together. This episode is only of the first 2 days! Where was all of this good skating in the other episodes? Stay tuned for these because they're packed with raw skateboarding.

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

FINALLY!

"We all know how much of a clusterfuck OIAM was this year. I'm going to try to redeem it a little bit by making my own edits. Just skating, no bullshit. The first one goes up tomorrow. Here's the teaser." - Mandible Claw
Now everyone thank Colin on 3. 1-2-3... THANK YOU COLLLIIIINNNN!

COAST TO COAST

Ahhh... Yes! The Map Masquerade Tour Florida section is finally done and is loaded with Crewmen and associates - Alex Davis, Dylan Perry, Jereme Knibbs, James Coleman, Kevrick Evans and more. What better way to end the tour than in the great shining state of Florida! I hope another one of these happens again soon; good pick of shredders. All filmed and edited by Ryan Garshell.

ZIZZLING

Crewman Nick Zizzo has been up to a lot lately, mostly in terms of skateboarding, but also being thrown into the mix of some strange situations that go great for story telling. Click here to read his new interview on the Skateboarder Mag's website where he shares all about the weird stuff he's been up to the past couple of years. Nick's got plenty of stuff coming out soon for his sponsors this year, but most importantly he'll be making a sweet little Cruizees clip as soon as he gets his box in! I'm excited to see what the Super Brand's video is going to be like. By the looks of their edits, it seems like it'll be pretty bizarre... in a good way though!

DISTINCTION

The other day I read the Speedball 2.1 issue and really took interest in Soy Panday's interview. Instead of sharing to you what it's about you should see for yourself by clicking here and purchasing a mag. After you acquire one and read his interview, if you couldn't figure out why Magenta is killing it harder than any other company right now, you'll understand why. This video expresses his words clearly, you'll get what I mean. Check out those Jimmy clips! Also, if you haven't already done so, get a copy of the new Meanwhile video Magenta just put together, it's definitely worth the price.

POWER MOVES

Crewman Dante Debose's new mini part/commercial for POW!! skateboards was suppose to premier at this weekends event but, unluckily, the DVD didn't work. Instead, we had a little premier at Matty's house with all the homies and everyone got hyped to see Dante coming out with some new choice stuff. Nice job Debose!

SLACKIN'

Sorry for the lack of posts again (I feel like I say that all the time) but this past week has been insane! I know it seems like I might've went head over heels at the beginning of this year about all these new things coming out, but let me reassure you that everything is in the works. It's just a longer process than we anticipated. However, much has been going on with the crewdudes- too much to write a synopsis about any particular person. I'm sure most of you have seen these already, but for those who haven't, this'll bring you up to speed.

Jimmy, in part with the rest of the Map Masquerade dudes. Ill tour.
Go to SLAP's website to watch the rest of them.

HALLUCINATION CREATION

Alex Fogt is one of the coolest/most unique dudes I've ever met. He is neither a leader nor follower, but the epitome of an original. He is THE O.G., and if you've ever had the pleasure of meeting him you recognized that at first glance. This video will explain it for those of you who have not met Fogt. Keep in mind while watching this, that although this psychedelic edit is only a couple min long, the behind the scenes work of putting all of this together took weeks upon weeks. And I can't even say he did it all for you because Fogt does what he does for himself, while still being a very considerate person. Continue to blow people's minds with your talents Fogt!

MRS. OFFICER

That's the name of this old montage Buggica just threw up. Why is it named Mrs. Officer? Buggica nor I know the reason, those days were too gray to remember why.  His camera is currently getting fixed and he's been scratching to film again, enough to repost this old edit that features some familiar faces. As you can tell, he's been killing the Fl filming game for awhile now and needs to get his camera back so he can get rolling on the next Latenight Lounger!

LATENIGHT LOUNGER #1

PIRO SIERRA

Here it is everyone! It's bumpin'! Nice job Piro and Colin!

HAPPY LEAP YEAR

I've been meaning to make this post for awhile now but always end up getting sidetracked and forget; I'm a mess lately. Anyways, besides the obvious spunky, contagiously fun, style-wise, best dude ever on a skateboard reasoning of posting this, I keep recalling when I inherited a pack of some baseball-style skateboard cards that Vans came out with in like '95, and the one I remembered most was the Ray Barbee card. It was so cool! On the front he was doing his legendary straight no-comply over a trash can, and on the back it had a little history about him with some stats. I would stare at that card all the time wondering how what he was doing was possible. Unfortunately, I lost them while moving to another house. I wish I still had them. I tried finding a picture of it on the web and couldn't which angers me even more knowing they were probably super rare! So all-in-all I guess I have no other meaning of making this post besides the obvious. Aside from all that, this has always been one of my favorite video parts to watch of him growing up and still to this day of course. His board control is unreal, and he was skating with a tanker board! Ray Barbee, you are an inspiration to all skateboarders! Thank you!

NIGHT SKATING LOOKS COOLER

At least in my opinion. Maybe since the camera light shines only at those being filmed making them, and a faint hue surrounding them visible, mystifying the spots and plan of direction (in lines), making it uncertain of what they'll do next which appeals to us more...? Eh, I'm not exactly sure why really, but it sounds good enough I suppose. You might totally hate how night skating looks. However, here's a great interpretation made by two (of many) of our good pals from the easternmost coast of Florida.
Filmed and edited by Evan Dougherty featuring David Morefield in their fine hometown of Brevard County.

EMBARRASSMENT TO SKATEBOARDING

Before the badmouthing gets a little excessive, let's clear some things up a bit. Alex Klein, producer of this year's OIAM, is the one responsible for this unforgivable mess of a "contest". He created the objectives for this whole competition without anyones consent and single-handedly destroyed OIAM's reputation along with making SLAP seem like they, as a whole, were held accountable for this. Like many of you hoped, Mr. Klein was immediately fired from SLAP Magazine after flipping out when Colin saved the kids from further humiliation. The delay in the episodes premiering was because the "Ride Channel" bought out the footage, unedited, and fabricated the mess into the most embarrassing ball of shit to ever come out of skateboarding. For any of you who still had any interest left after watching the "High Ollie Elimination Contest" in the episode a couple of weeks ago and have seen the latest episode, you're probably fascinated but confused why. Is it because you're appalled that a skateboarder could actually think of making this garbage? Or you're amazed but pissed off at yourself for watching 9min of the worst thing ever brought to skateboarding? However, there is good that has come out of this and that is that next year Colin Read will most likely be taking over bringing life back to OIAM.

Don't even try forcing yourself to enjoy this.

SF NIGHTS

We need to start coming out with some of our own stuff soon, posting other people's creations is starting to get a little out of hand. In spite of that, Colin took a trip to SF a week or so ago most likely to escape from the freezing temperatures of NY and ended up coming out with another clip for SLAP, a pretty damn good one.

BRIAN LOTTI SAYS IT BEST

The best part about skating (even if you don't have hills). Just cruizin' around with friends.

FAR EAST SKATE NETWORK

A few years ago I unintentionally came across a couple of the FESN's videos and was absolutely blown away by how/what they were skating and their remarkable filming and editing. Recently, I stumbled upon one of their videos again and I couldn't help but laugh and smile the whole time fascinated by the edit. A couple of minutes into it I recognized Mandible Claw affiliate, Kenji Nakahira (the stylish asian guy running up the handrail in the New York Clip- Subway Skating), which made even more a reason to make this post. These guys are hands down some of the coolest skaters I've ever seen! Whether or not skateboarding is how they make a living, the enjoyment they have for it is unquestionable. Watch this then go skate and have fun!

It's getting pretty chilly out again, and there are only a few jackets left!
Get one before you freeze looking like a dumb!

FILMER APPRECIATION

Taking a sort of different route with some videos being posted up from now on, we would like to also focus and appreciate the talents of those behind the lenses. Without them, even with amazing skating and style, your part can look like total shit and no one will care to watch it again or remember it. It takes a team to make skateboarding what it is today in videos, and those participating have to be just as talented as the skater in what they do to make the whole project a charismatic feature.

Here is a video SLAP Magazine presented of Josh Stewart showcasing and commentating on the past 12 years of his footage. As you all know, Josh has created some of the most historical skate videos ever (Static I, II, and III) and has also been a great part in other legendary videos that many of you grew up watching. Static IV has been underway for a little while now and the expectations grow higher and higher with not an spec of pessimism in sight. Crewman Jimmy Lannon is in the line up and his footage is going to be insane! He's been skating his ass off and has barely been in Gainesville the past year due to all the traveling he's done for the making of his section in the next video. So be hyped, be siked and get ready for another eastern benchmark video brought to you by one of the greatest filmers in skateboarding, Josh Stewart!

ONE IN A MILLION EPISODE TWO

The second OIAM episode, a little better than the first. Not diggin' the music at all, but maybe I'm just looking for a reason to hate on it. Either way, the skating is good and there's no sign of drama bullshit so that's definitely a plus.

NIGHTLIGHTS

Here is another great New York Clip brought to you by you know who. This one, as well as all the others, has a theme but isn't as drastic as the past clips (skating in subways or grinding and riding up cars). Maybe Colin couldn't think of anything radical enough for people to skate and was getting scared of playing slapsies with The Man. Or maybe he got tired of all the death threats sent to him from the deranged Youtube junkies from previous clips. Or maybe he's got another ingenious idea that he'll marvel us with very soon. Who knows? We just enjoy the clips whether they're conventional or not!

EAST ON THE WEST

This video of Ben Gore was admittedly stolen from Colin Read's facebook by us today. I feel it's suitable to follow up with the Brad Cromer post we put up a few days ago since they're both from the same area. Ben Gore is another guy I use to watch growing up as well, and still to this day in fact. He's just really good and there's not much else to say so let this edit do the talking.

NEVERMIND

Following up on the "ONE IN A MILLION FAIL" post a couple weeks back, I stand corrected, although not completely. They did come out with the first episode of last years OIAM which premiered this morning, but as you can see at least in this episode, it looks like an intro for "The Real World". Let's just hope that's the last of it and the following ones are packed with good skating and no drama. ALL HAIL CARDIEL!

TRUE STYLE

With the growing mass amount of talented skateboarders today, there are only a few originals that stand out from the "chill steeze" impersonators, Brad Cromer has always been one of them. Brad has been killing it for years here in FL and has always been one I've looked up to growing up skating, which I think is safe to say the same for many of you. His raw yet smooth style has the ability to make you immediately stop what you're doing and go cruize around, like this video for instance. No he's not a Crewman, but it is necessary to acknowledge a FL head who's influenced many from our generation and those to come.

ADVENTURES IN BED

In a couple of weeks I'll (Steve Spence) be getting a second ACL surgery which might mean lesser posts or maybe none at all for a few weeks. I'll do my best in keeping you entertained but I'll be lying in bed tripping balls for quite some time so it might be unmanageable. However, our first line of cruizer boards are in the making and will be done by the end of February/beginning of March, so get ready to cruize the streets! For the time being, here's my favorite Jimmy part from Westside Skateshop's "The Good Life".

FLORIDA SCUM

As many of you Gainesvillans or wayfarers know, there has yet to be a decent skateshop here in the city. Holy Crail is an up-in-coming strictly skateboard shop that hopefully will be open soon. This was the first event that took place last season inside The Imaginarium, a junkyard in the middle of the ghetto, that benefitted the shop's construction. Featuring Crewmen Matt Town, Chuey Stirling, Jimmy Lannon, Jimmy Mastrocolo, Dante Debose, Ryan Barlow and other Florida scum. Filmed and edited by Mike Atwood.

Don't miss the next benefit event for Holy Crail Saturday, January 28th! Click on the image below for more details.

Be sure to check back for the next Cruizees/Speedball party coming in late February!

ONE IN A MILLION FAIL

For those of you who keep up with SLAP Magazine's OIAM every year, you're wondering or already know why there have yet to be any episodes or winners announced. Well we can all thank Colin for that, for real. Apparently the producer/director/whoever it was in charge figured he was going to make this past OIAM even more so a reality show than last years. Of course, the finalists didn't give a shit about that and just wanted to skate. So Colin took it upon himself to save them, and everyone else awaiting the episodes, and brought them around the city strictly to skate and have fun (what they were there for in the first place). The guy in charge lost his mind, flipped out and no one is sure if OIAM's footage will ever be used. Hopefully that guy gets fired and Colin will be in charge this year. Anyhow, while up in New York I met Matt Militano, one of the finalist, and I gotta say he's one of the coolest dudes I've met in awhile. He was immediately down for Cruizees and bought a shirt within the first 5 min of being introduced and got some really good footage with it on. This is Matt's video that qualified him to be a finalist, and if you think this footage is good wait until you see his full part in Mandible Claw 3!

By the way, jackets are almost sold out so get them while you can! CLICK!!

FLORIDA RIPPING

Found this not so cool edit on the Thrasher site featuring Clive Dixon and a couple other Florida homies.

NESSER

Not for the reason of having the same first name as us, Steve Nesser has always been one of our favorite skaters. He seems to always be under the radar and just when you wondered what happened to him, he comes out with a new jammin' part. With no discretion at all, his tricks can relate to most, which is more enjoyable to watch in our eyes. Great style, good tricks, and always a pumping song to flow with every edit. Steve's the man!

SPEEDBALL FUNDRAISER PARTY

This is a long awaited edit that I set aside for no excuse. I finally put it together so you and all your friends realize you missed out on the best party of 2011. There's plenty of story behind the video which makes it even more meaningful to the people who were there to see it first hand. So come out next time and be a part of the carnage!
